Start syncing in OneDrive 

How do I start syncing Desktop, Documents etc. to OneDrive?


Open OneDrive by clicking the small cloud icon (1) in the bottom right corner of the taskbar. 

If you don't see the cloud icon in the taskbar, you can search for OneDrive in the search bar in the taskbar (2).

Choose one of the headings below that fits your OneDrive:


OneDrive is not logged in

If OneDrive is not signed in, enter your email address and password and follow the on-screen instructions to start syncing.

Then continue to the section How to make sure synchronization is enabled.


onedrive is logged in

Tap the OneDrive icon in the taskbar on the bottom right.

Click on the The cogwheel (3)

Click on the Settings (4)

Open up Account (5)

See which account is logged into OneDrive (6)

OneDrive is logged in with a private account:

If you are logged in with a private account, log out and log in with your company account. You do this in the following way:

Select Unlink from this PC (7)

Select Remove link to account (8)

A window will now open where you can enter your company email address

Enter your company account password

Click here Log in

Follow the on-screen instructions and start syncing

Then continue to the section How to make sure synchronization is enabled.

OneDrive is logged in with a company account:

If you are logged in with your company account, simply skip to the section How to make sure synchronization is enabled.


How to make sure synchronization is turned on

Click on the OneDrive icon in the bottom right corner

Click on the the cogwheel (9)

Click on the Settings (10)

Click on the Sync and backup (11)

Open up Manage the backup (12)

Ensure that synchronization of all folders is enabled (13)

Click here Save changes (14)

You can view the status of the synchronization as follows:

By clicking on the OneDrive icon you can see the status. At the top it says either All your files are synchronized (15) or synchronization is in progress

OR

Look at the cloud icon. If the cloud icon is a blue cloud, OneDrive is synchronized.

If the cloud icon is marked with arrows, OneDrive is still synchronizing.

Notes: OneDrive must finish syncing WITHOUT ERROR before you reset the PC to ensure that all your files are saved in OneDrive.
