Why are changes I made in SharePoint not visible in my Explorer?
Changed layout in Explorer
After the transition to SharePoint, the Explorer looks a little different when you want to save to a shared SharePoint site. It's just SharePoint trying to make it visible that you are saving in SharePoint Online. This is marked with a SharePoint logo at the top of your Explorer and you don't need to switch to your local folder:

Delay on changes in document
When you make a change to a document you have opened via the Explorer, the change is actually made in SharePoint Online, after which the change must be synchronized from the cloud to your computer/pathfinder. This process can take some time depending on your data volume and the capacity of your computer.

This can help your coworker see your changes before you do, if your coworker's computer is faster at synchronizing the change down.
If you urgently need access to the changed document, you can open the document directly in SharePoint Online.
