How do I handle errors in my OneDrive sync that occur, for example, because I use several other programs for file sync?
Both iCloud Drive and OneDrive can try to sync the same files at the same time, which can lead to conflicts and errors.
Uninstall other file sync program
Click on the Windows-buttons (1)
Open up Settings (2)
Go to Apps (3)
Open up Installed apps (4) (or Apps and features)
Find your file sync program in the list, for example iCloud Drive or Google Drive.
Select uninstall/remove program.
Reinstall OneDrive
Click on the Windows-buttons (1)
Open up Settings (2)
Go to Apps (3)
Open up Installed apps (4) (or Apps and features)
Find OneDrive in the program list (5)
Select uninstall/remove program (6)
Download the latest version of OneDrive here: Download the OneDrive App for PC, Mac, Android, or iOS - Microsoft OneDrive
Open the downloaded OneDrive installation file and follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall OneDrive.
Enter your work email address (7)
Follow the on-screen instructions and then go back to the "How to make sure synchronization is turned on" in the following guide: Start synchronization in OneDrive - IT Forum Gruppen A/S
Reset OneDrive (if the above does not work)
If reinstalling OneDrive does not solve the problem, try resetting OneDrive. This is done in the following way:
Press the Windows flag + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog
Copy and paste one of the following reset commands in the Run dialog, depending on where OneDrive is installed.
Notes: If you get the following message, try one of the other Reset commands.
- Standard installation path:
- C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
- Press 'Enter'
- 32-bit installation path:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
- Press 'Enter'
- Roaming installation path:
- %APPDATA%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
- Press 'Enter'
The OneDrive icon in the bottom right corner of the taskbar will disappear and reappear after a moment. This indicates that OneDrive has been reset.
