How do I upgrade my Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro?
Important! Upgrading requires a product key. Before you get started, make sure you have a product key.
Open Settings
Click on the Windows icon (1) at the bottom of the taskbar.
Open up Settings (2)
Open Activation settings
Click on the Update & Security (3)
Change product key
Select Activation in the menu to the left (4)
Click on Change product key
Enter your Windows 10 Pro product key in the window (6). The key may have been sent to you in a separate email and looks like this: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. If you do not have a product key, please contact IT Forum Gruppen.
Click here Next (7)
Follow the instructions to perform the upgrade
Windows will now check if your product key is correct. Windows will then start the upgrade.
It will take a few minutes to install the upgrade and your computer may restart in the process.
Complete the installation
Once the installation is complete, open Settings > Update & security > Activation (8)
Verify that the computer is now running Windows 10 Pro (9).
You have now upgraded your computer to Windows 10 Pro.
