How do I access Remote Desktop (WTS) from iPad via the Microsoft Remote Desktop app?
Start App Store and search for Microsoft Remote Desktop. Press the button Download (1) and sign in with your Apple ID to download the program.
Pressure Open up when the application is fully installed or open the application from the iPad desktop (2).
Click on the PC name (5). The PC name depends on your customer number:
- 3-digit customer number: rd.hosit.dk:40 followed by your customer number
- Customer number of 4 digits: rd.hosit.dk:4 followed by your customer number
- Customer number of 5 digits: rd.hosit.dk: followed by your customer number
Username is not entered.
Then click on Settings (6).
Click on the User-friendly name and type Server (7). Click on the finished.
Finally, press Gem in the top right corner to save the server connection.
Then go back to the iPad desktop to finish the configuration.
When you need to log in to the remote desktop, start Microsoft Remote Desktop The app from the iPad desktop.
Click on the new created Server Profile (8).
Enter your User name (9) and your Access code (10) to the server.
Do not activate Save username and password function (11).
Click on the Finished (12).
The first time you log in, you will be warned that the identity of the server cannot be verified. Here you need to enable Don't ask me again about connecting to this computer (13). Click here Accept (14).
You will now be logged into the server.
Terminate the Microsoft Remote Desktop server connection when you are finished.
This can be done by pressing Server bar at the top (15) and click their X icon in the top left corner (16).
Log out of Microsoft Remote Desktop correctly
- To leave the server briefly, perhaps to work on the local iPad, press the iPad's Your home handsome.
To re-enter the server, either click on Microsoft Remote Desktop App on the iPad desktop or open the program under Active programs (Press 2x on Your home buttons). - To disconnect from the server without shutting down programs on the remote desktop, remove Microsoft Remote Desktop from Active programs (Press 2x on Your home buttons).
- To completely log off the server, press Start in the bottom left corner of the remote desktop and select Log off.
