Enroll PC in Intune without resetting

How do I enroll my computer in my organization's Intune without resetting the computer?

Before you get started

  • Print this guide and read the entire guide thoroughly before getting started.
  • Make sure your PC is connected to power before you start. You can do the migration from anywhere as long as you have a stable internet connection and power.

General information

  • Registering your PC takes around 1-2 hours depending on the capacity of your machine and your internet connection.
  • Much of the time, your PC will have to work by itself and you won't have to do anything.
  • Once enrolled, your PC will automatically have relevant work applications and security settings installed. This ensures your productivity and improves the security of your device.

Uninstall Microsoft Office and Antivirus programs

It is necessary to uninstall your current Office package and antivirus program on your local computer. You will automatically get a new Office package and antivirus program once you have rolled your computer into Intune.

1: Open up Windows flag

2: Open up Settings

3: Open up Apps

You will now see a list of the programs installed on your computer.

4: Find the Office suite in the list. Select the program and click Remove

Repeat step 4 for Antivirus programs. In the list of programs, find Antivirus programs such as: Norton Antivirus, Panda Antivirus, McAfee Total Protection, Symantec EndPoint Protection, AVG Antivirus, Avast, Bitdefender, Heimdal, BullGuard and others.

Select Remove

Add computer to your organization's Intune

For your computer to be safe to store work-related data, it needs to be added to the company's Intune.

Notes: If you have used Microsoft 365 programs on your local computer, such as Teams, your computer has most likely been added to Intune incorrectly.
