How do I access previous files on my computer after the transition to Modern Workplace?
This guide only applies to users who have previously used their computer outside the remote desktop and have files on the local computer that they want to move to the new user.
When you add your computer to EndPoint Manager, you create a new user (the user that uses your email address). It is important that you use this user when you log in to your computer.
If you have used your local computer to store files before the transition to Modern Workplace, these files will still be on the other user on the computer. If you want to move the files from the old user to your new user, follow this guide:
In the typing field (2), type c:\users. Press the button Enter. You will then get a list of the users created on the computer.
Each user consists of a number of different folders. Folders such as Documents, Desktop, etc. These folders contain the user's files.
Identify your previous and new user. By default, you will not have access to folders in your previous user and the following window will appear.
Press the Continue (4) and wait until you can access the folders. This may take a few minutes.
Once you have access to your previous user, we recommend that you move files in the following folders from the previous user to the same folders in the new user. To make it easier, you can open 2 folders, one for each user.
