How do I access Remote Desktop (WTS) from Windows?
Type mstsc (2) to search for the Microsoft Remote Desktop program and press Enter to open the program (3).
In the "Remote Desktop Connection" dialog box under the tab In general (4), enter the following:
Computer (5): Depends on your customer number:
- 3-digit customer number: rd.hosit.dk:40 followed by your customer number
- Customer number of 4 digits: rd.hosit.dk:4 followed by your customer number
- Customer number of 5 digits: rd.hosit.dk: followed by your customer number
User name (6): Your email address
Password: Do not enter! Do NOT check the checkbox: Let me save the credentials
Under the tab Local resources (7), it is possible to create access from the server to the resources on the local PC.
Access from server to local printer: Check the checkbox Printers (8). Contact us support@itf.dkif the local printer does not appear in the printer list on the server.
Access from server to clipboard: Check the checkbox Clipboard (9) to be able to copy texts etc. from local PC to server.
Access from server to local PC drives: Press the button More (10) and check the checkbox Drive. Press the button OK.
Under the tab Advanced (11) in the section Server authentication (12), content in the drop-down menu must be changed from Warn me to Connect without warning me (13).
Back on the tab In general (14) now press the button Save as (15) and save the RDP file to the desktop.
The file is named Hosting.
Once the file is saved, the dialog can be closed by pressing the red cross in the top right corner (16).
Double-click on the file Hosting on the desktop. Enter your password in the login box (17) and click OK (18).
You are now logged in to the server.
